Winter Water Scenes

February 6, 2014 by Southern Sea Muse

Winter has come with a fury this year, even to the beaches.

Unable to traverse the icy bridges one day last week, I was immobilized on this side of the water and marveled at some rare scenes…

(to my friends to the north, please forgive what appears to lack novelty…but it gave us something here to talk about for generations!)

Our sugar-white sands just got whiter!

Iced over and perfect for a toboggan…if only it wouldn’t deposit the rider into the water at the end of the pier.

I bet the dolphins were warmer than I was that day.

The icy fountain is a pretty cool photo.

Thank you, Wandering Iris. It was about as cool-cold as they come!

I’ve been wanting to experience your kind of weather, but I think I can’t live with that kind of weather. lol

I live in a tropical country and its really HOT here all year round. 😉

    I love your pictures. 🙂

Love the fountain photo although perhaps not the weather which creates it 🙂

Thank you, WM – I’m with you, I could do without the frigid temps. Bring on the spring!

Great pics Ms. Sea Muse ! I hope you are warming up down there ….

Yes, it’s downright steamy here suddenly! Peeling off the layers faster than a near-naked jaybird sheds its last feathers…crazy weather! Thanks, Mr. 3D. 😉

The snow and icicles look divine but brrr, baby it’s c-o-l-d outside.
No, don’t let anyone, even in a wet suit go off the pier in a toboggan. Brrr.

    • on February 7, 2014 at 00:51 Southern Sea Muse

Yeah, the water is 52F right now. Thanks, Ms. Tess!

Wow, that must really be a sight for you all down there. I live in San Diego, so if such a thing happened here, we would certainly be marveling and taking pictures too!
Some brave soul ought to get a wet suit on and try the toboggan down the pier!

    • on February 7, 2014 at 00:50 Southern Sea Muse

Thanks, Mrs. Betsy! That brave soul might be my husband, also from San Diego. He still has his wet suit that he used at Coronado, IB, OB, PB, MB & La Jolla, you name it! Oh, wait…he just informed me the wet suit last fit him when he was 14. Scratch the toboggan plan for him 😀
