This week’s Photo Challenge makes for some interesting creative latitude.
Here is what creeped me out in my front yard this week:

I’m saying snail, but whatever it is it’s a perfect challenge fit!
Thank you, Ms. Tina! Not a snail, but I can see how it might look like one. Good guess!

Fish… more like a catfish. this is delicious.
You are correct, seeker – but not a catfish. It was very delicious!

Okay, I’ve read all of the comments. I have no new guesses. WHEN are you going to tell us what on earth that … thing is?! The suspense is killing me. Love the idea of putting it on your porch for trick or treaters. My guess is that it got smelly pretty quick, though. That may have held them back before they could even see the cause. Either way, heck yes to those Twix!
Okay, okay…I’m debating about when! Perhaps in another post. In the meantime, bring on the Twix!!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeaaaahhh not squid?? 🙂 Hmmm
Nope, Ms. Dina, not squid. But squiddish 😀

Thank you, Ese! Glad it had the desired effect.

I liked this. Which was no small feat, given that I viewed it on my phone and therefore had to “touch” it. Eeeep!
That’s funny (but icky!), Ms. Jeni – sorry you had to touch it! You never know what will show up on your phone anymore these days 😀 I applaud your courage.

Ewwwwwwww! What is that? My husband caught a glimpse of your picture in my reader and even he was taken aback.
It’s along the lines of snips and snails and puppy dog tails. Any guesses? I’m impressed – managing to gross out your husband! You might have seen something similar at a Korean market, possibly?

My first thought, when I saw this on WP Reader, was WTF? And then I see lipstick for a mouth…or is that just my imagination? I feel I should know what this is but I can only think of a squid…or maybe a looser term would be ‘bait’. But that would be one high tide to reach your front yard. Let’s go back to Horizons for the Challenge.
Mystery is fun, isn’t it, 3D? 😉
I bypassed the Horizons Challenge since two posts ago was pretty much nothing but horizons – I beat them to it.
The tide in my yard is always Crimson, y’know…

Well done Mystery Muse. Well done! Roll Tide…
Totally creepy!
Thanks, Ms. Holley! Yes, it was pretty eeewwwww.

It sort of looks like a cross between a turkey and an octopus.
Very perceptive! You are getting close…
~~ssm
Is it a squid? I haven’t seen one close up apparently. 😉
Nope, not squid. But you are getting warmer, it is a close-up of something in my neighborhood! 😀
~~ssm
Oh man! I’m not sure. 🙂 Catfish? I may have to wait for the reveal.
Ahhhhhhhhh that would creep me out too!!!!!
Funky, it is! I should have moved it to the front porch for the trick-or-treaters 😀
~~ssm
Yes, then you could have had all the candy to yourself!!!
I love the way you think, Ms. Tracy!! Ha ha, nothing like strategic planning for the next Halloween. Tricks for them, Twix for moi. Hope you got some good treats yesterday!

I’m always scheming when it comes to chocolate!!!! I did…we had lots left over as we live up a hill that hardly anyone comes up!! Strategic too:-)
